Role Overview:
The Volunteer Director, Community Engagement, plays a crucial role in fostering connections, building partnerships, and enhancing community involvement for HTCI. This position involves strategizing and implementing initiatives that promote community engagement, volunteer recruitment, and collaboration with external organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Community Partnership Development:
– Identify and establish partnerships with local community organizations, businesses, and educational institutions to support HTCI’s mission.
– Collaborate with stakeholders to develop joint initiatives that benefit the community and align with HTCI’s goals.
2. Volunteer Recruitment and Management:
– Develop and implement strategies to recruit volunteers from diverse backgrounds.
– Coordinate volunteer training programs and ensure volunteers are aligned with HTCI’s values and objectives.
– Oversee volunteer scheduling, recognition, and retention programs.
3. Event Planning and Execution:
– Plan and execute community events, workshops, and awareness campaigns to promote HTCI’s programs and engage the target audience.
– Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials and publicize events.
4. Stakeholder Engagement:
– Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community leaders, government officials, and other non-profit organizations.
– Represent HTCI at community meetings, forums, and events.
5. Community Outreach Programs:
– Develop and implement outreach programs to connect with diverse communities, ensuring inclusivity and cultural sensitivity.
– Collect feedback and data to assess the impact of outreach programs.
6. Collaboration with Program Managers:
– Work closely with program managers to integrate community input into program development.
– Provide insights on community needs and preferences to enhance program effectiveness.
Qualifications and Skills:
– Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Community Development, Social Work, Business, or related discipline).
– Proven experience in community engagement, volunteer management, or a related role.
– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
– Strong organizational and project management abilities.
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
– Understanding of issues related to education, diversity, and inclusion.
– Familiarity with the local community and its dynamics.
